There is one Natural Grocers store in Grand Junction, and it’s one of the only health-food store options in the entire Fruita/Grand Junction/Palisade area.

It’s located in the Grand Mesa Center shopping plaza at 464 US Highway 6 & 50 (or as we call here, “the road to the mall.” It’s the strip mall that is home to Ross and TJ Maxx.
A store that is actually bigger than it looks from the outside, Natural Grocers is a solid choice for health-conscious shoppers, and is a competitor of sorts to Sprouts.
As you’d expect from their name, the store specializes in 100 percent organic fruits and vegetables, vitamins, supplements, and higher-quality food items that are better for you. No Kit-Kats or Monster Energy drinks here.

As you walk in, you immediately notice aisle after aisle of every type of vitamin and supplement you could ever want. I personally get some higher quality antioxidant supplements here, including tart cherry pills (because when you’re battling gout, it’s either that, or give up beer).
There is a surprisingly large frozen goods section here ranging from microwaveable healthier burritos, to organic soy ice cream for example.
(The black star below shows you the location of the GJ Natural Grocers in the Grand Mesa Center strip mall).
There are grab and go meals, like salads, every type of juice you’d want (including a big selection of Kombucha drinks). Bags of nuts, snacks and treats line the shelves and include things like organic cinnamon bears. Countless gluten-free options can be found as well.
Bulk food items include granola, oats, spices, dried fruits and more. There is a sizeable dairy section in the back of the store, and some craft beer and wine options as well.

Household and non-food items include everything from books to blenders, aromatherapy bracelets, diffuser necklaces, to soothing balms, recycled paper towels, toothpaste, shampoo, water bottles, CBD oils, and other health and beauty items.

- Charcutnuvo (organic certified brats and sausages)

Pet Food at the Grand Junction Natural Grocers
If you feel your pet should eat as healthy as you do, you’ll be pleased to find a decent selection of organic and healthier dog and cat food options, including refrigerated pet foods.

More
There is typically pretty good customer service here (my nephew used to work here), although prices are higher than what you’ll find at the bigger chain grocery stores. You get what you pay for.
As with many other stores in the Natural Grocers chain, the Grand Junction store hosts the occasional in-store event, such as product demonstrations and tastings, with free samples provided. A recent “Hack Your Coffee” presentation was one such educational event.

But whether you’re looking for organic snacks, eco-friendly cleaning supplies, or premium supplements, Natural Grocers is a good option for those willing to pay a little extra to prioritize their health and wellness.
