Getting from Grand Junction, Colorado and Moab, Utah isn’t always super easy or cheap – this despite the fact thousands fly into Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT) each year on their way toward Moab and its national parks.
Moab has a tiny airport, Canyonlands Regional Airport, but the majority of visitors fly in from Grand Junction or Salt Lake. Grand Junction is much closer and a major gateway into southeast Utah.

Whether you’re going mountain biking, rafting, exploring Arches or Canyonlands National Parks, or just soaking in Moab’s desert beauty there are a few options for you, but just know that there isn’t a regularly scheduled shuttle or bus from Grand Junction to Moab. No public bus, no light rail, etc. You’re going to have to go the private route.
Here are the three ways to get from Grand Junction to Moab
- Private shuttle
- Car Rental
- Uber/Lyft
Shuttle to Moab from Grand Junction
There are four privately-owned shuttle companies that take visitors from the Grand Junction Airport (or other places here) into Moab.
It’s not cheap. You can expect to pay in the $450 range for a one-way trip for 4 people.
These shuttles are clean, comfortable, offer flexible schedules and can pick you directly from the Grand Junction airport, (or elsewhere in town), and drop you off at any specific hotel or Airbnb.

The three main Grand Junction to Moab Shuttles are below. We’re not affiliated with any of them, nor do we receive a commission or anything, unfortunatley.
Moab Express Shuttle
Moab Express is the best-known GJT to Moab shuttle.
As for pricing, a nice lady named Meghan from Moab Express, got back to me and told me that 2026 prices are not set yet, but that 2025 prices are as follows:
$345 for 1-3 passengers
$455 for 4-5 passengers
This is one way, and includes all taxes and fees but does not include gratuity for the driver.
A roundtrip is double the above prices, but their website says a 10% discount is offered for round trip shuttle trips booked in advance.

Moab Sol Ride
I don’t know much about this company, but its owner, Devin, gets really good Google reviews. They charge $329 for a luxury SUV for up to two people, not including tax. They will drive you down the more scenic Highway 128 option at no additional cost. For pricing options with more than two passengers you’ll have to contact them.

Porcupine Shuttle
I reached out for a quote, but a nice lady, Kacey, says it depends on the number of passengers and time of year, and to reach out for pricing.

Road Runner Shuttle
I sent an email to them, but never heard back, so I don’t know. As with Moab Sol Ride, they offer tours of Arches and Canyonlands. They advertise service from Grand Junction to Moab however.

Rental Cars
This is a cheaper option, and of course, with a rental car you get the freedom to explore Moab, Arches, Canyonlands, and other scenic drives around the region.
There are five different rental car companies operating out of Grand Junction Regional Airport: Alamo, Avis, Hertz, Enterprise and National.
Typical rental rates at GJT range from $50 to $100 per day. Moab’s busiest time of the year is in spring, especially Easter weekend, so prices can be higher then.
For visitors planning to visit multiple national parks, a rental car is usually the most flexible and affordable option.

Uber and Lyft and Taxi from Grand Junction to Moab
Sunshine Rides is the local taxi company, and they operate a manned station inside the terminal. As for rideshare, as you may know, prices for Uber and Lyft can vary greatly, but do know there are plenty of rideshare drives in Grand Junction. Less so in Moab, so you’ll want to book ahead.
A recent search on a random fall Wednesday showed regular Uber prices in the $150 range (one way from the Grand Junction airport into downtown Moab). The price was $223 for an Uber XXL (for up to 6 people).
Moab to Grand Junction Airport Shuttle
The four shuttle companies mentioned above can also take you from Moab to Grand Junction.
Again, there isn’t a regularly scheduled private (or public), shuttle or bus from Moab to Grand Junction. You’ll have to book one of the companies listed above ahead of time.

Moab Express (and presumably the others) offer door-to-door service, meaning they’ll pick you up in Moab at any hotel, rental homes, campground, etc. Besides the Grand Junction Regional Airport, other typical drop-offs include downtown hotels on Main Street and hotels on Horizon Drive.
Bus from Grand Junction to Moab
There is none.
There is no bus between Grand Junction and Moab. Yes, technically you could take a Greyhound bus to faraway Green River, Utah, then pay for an expensive connection to get from Green River to Moab, but you may get there faster just by walking from Grand Junction to Moab.
A Google search revealed this little piece of traveling advice from a website called Rome2Rio:
“The best way to get from Grand Junction to Moab without a car is to bus, which takes 11h 15m and costs $75 – $170.”
But hey, I’m sure that article was not AI generated, and I am looking forward to the owner of that website to try taking this “best way to get from Grand Junction to Moab” sometime soon.
